A creative brand has three elements which work in concert to produce a powerful brand: logo, story and image.

An effective logo has three parts.

Your name is where it all begins. I suggest using your name, stage name, pen name or alias.

Your motto should be 3 to 5 words. It should either identify the benefit of using your product/service or pinpoint your target market. Avoid generic-sounding words.

An icon is a symbol or picture. Do not use anything obvious or generic because there is a risk of diluting your brand if others use a similar icon. Branding is about ownership. If everyone has a similar brand then it is hard to identify ownership.

When you create a logo you establish a graphic “style.” Style is the look and feel of all your promotional material. It includes fonts, colors, and the overall design.
